Alan N. Markowitz
Principal

Mr. Markowitz is a partner with Sandmark Realty, LLC. He started his career in 1988 with Julien J. Studley, Inc., and has been involved in the completion of real estate transactions involving commercial leases and sales of investment grade property. Alan’s focus is on “users” of space and not representing professional commercial landlords.

A licensed real estate broker in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida, Alan also developed a lease audit program, designed to provide analysis of a tenant’s rent and escalation bills. This program has saved his clients more than $1.7 million. Additionally, Alan provides market research, lease negotiation and financial analysis on behalf of law firms, financial institutions and non-profit organizations.

His article addressing lease escalations has been published in The Real Estate Finance Journal. In addition, Alan has volunteered his time to the Project Live, Mentoring Program of The Children’s Aid Society. Alan previously sat on the board of his residential co-op. Alan is a former member of the Board of Trustees at his synagogue and coach, for eight seasons, of girls basketball in Scarsdale, NY.
